Cardiopulmonary / Respiratory Rehabilitation
Our rehabilitation center for patients with heart / lung conditions emphasizes
education and doctor-prescribed physical exercise plans. Our goal is to
provide patients with the resources they need to manage their symptoms
and to maximize their physical and psychological abilities while coping
with a heart or lung condition.
The program progresses through several stages, beginning with a complete
evaluation of the patient’s individual needs and status. From there,
we build a program specific to the patient’s needs, with the goal
of strengthening their functional capacity. Our doctors prescribe individual
exercise plans for patients. Each plan is closely supervised by our expert
team of nurses, respiratory therapists, physiologists, and cardiac technicians.
In addition to individualized rehabilitative care plans, we also provide
educational classes that give patients the opportunity to learn more about
the effects of their condition, what causes it, and how to manage life
day to day. Our staff includes dietitians and pharmacists who provide
instruction about nutrition and how medications affect your body and condition.
The goal of our program is to see each patient “graduate”
and independently manage his or her own health and fitness plan.
We have provided rehabilitation services for patients who have been diagnosed
with the following, among other conditions:
- Heart attacks
- Bypass surgeries / valve repairs
- Artery stents
- Heart transplant
- Chronic / severe chest pain
- Interstitial lung disease
- Asthma
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
