Emergency Services
Together, We’re Building a Healthier Tomorrow.
Valley Health Shenandoah Memorial Hospital is committed to helping you
stay healthy, but when an illness or injury does happen, you can take
great comfort in knowing expert emergency services are available around
the clock.
We have invested in a first-rate Emergency Department and Medical Building
that provides the physical environment in which our highly skilled physicians,
nurses and clinicians can continue providing expert patient and family-centered care.
The three-story facility was carefully designed with an eye toward patient
safety and privacy, convenience, efficiency and communication that enhances
the overall patient experience. Providers are steps away from their hospitalized
patients and patients coming for a doctor’s appointment won’t
have far to go for outpatient services including Medical Imaging, Laboratory,
Surgical Services and Respiratory Services.
The Emergency Department/Medical Building includes:
- 17 private exam and treatment rooms to maximize privacy and safety
- Dedicated cardiac care room
- Trauma room
- New CT scanner, ultrasound and x-ray equipment
- Spacious waiting rooms with private family consultation room
- Improved patient and visitor parking

For Minor Emergencies
Roughly 40 percent of emergency room visits are for injuries that are not
necessarily emergencies, such as sprains, small cuts, flu symptoms, and
minor fractures. To help address these needs while making time for the
most severely injured patients, Valley Health offers urgent care and quick
care locations in Winchester, Strasburg, Front Royal, Martinsburg and Ranson.
