Cardiac Surgery
Our cardiac surgeons specialize in the treatment of cardiovascular disease
including disorders of the heart, aorta and blood vessels. We cover the
full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery (excluding transplantation), often offering
second-opinion services for patients deemed too high risk for intervention elsewhere. Importantly,
many procedures are performed through
minimally invasive “key-hole” incisions… leading to improved outcomes with quicker recovery and less pain!

General Thoracic Surgery
Thoracic surgery is the general term for surgery pertaining to the thorax,
including the lungs and esophagus. While it can also include the field
of cardiac surgery, the term thoracic surgery is generally used to describe
all surgeries except for those pertaining to the heart and great vessels,
specifically the lungs and esophagus.
General thoracic surgeons at Winchester Medical Center work with other
experienced surgeons, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, and medical
and radiation oncologists to provide advanced, high-quality care to patients
needing thoracic surgery.
