Valley Health and War Memorial Hospital are excited that construction is
underway for the new medical building on Valley Road! Representatives
gathered on Monday, May 7, to mark the start of construction on the new
medical building to house a well-established physician practice and the
not-for-profit hospital’s outpatient rehabilitation and fitness center.

Work began last week at the 8-acre site at 3774 Valley Road in Berkeley
Springs. The general contractor is Minghini’s, in Martinsburg, with
project oversight by Valley Health’s Construction Services team.
The new 11,000+ square foot building will be home to internal medicine
physician Joseph Hashem, MD, and staff at Valley Health War Memorial Hospital
| Internal Medicine, with space for three additional providers, 12 exam
rooms, and laboratory services. “I look forward to serving the community
for years to come in a state of the art office,” Dr. Hashem says.
The remaining 4,500 square foot space will be Valley Health War Memorial
Hospital Rehab and Fitness, providing outpatient physical, occupational
and speech therapy services, an equipped fitness facility and group exercise classes.
“We are happy to be building a new facility for our outpatient therapy/fitness
department and internal medicine practice,” says War Memorial Vice
President Heather Sigel. “This will allow us to better serve the
community with updated equipment and larger space. We also look forward
to growing our practices by offering services that we cannot in our existing
space.”
A grand opening event will be planned to celebrate the new facility’s
completion in early 2019.
