Lady Gaga Concert Raffle Memorializes Local Fan Melissa Anne Dabas
In February of this year, Melissa Dabas of Winchester purchased twenty-six
tickets for Lady Gaga’s November 19 concert in Washington, DC, which
she looked forward to attending with friends, family and other cancer
survivors.
Last month, the 42-year-old lost her brave fight with cancer. Her grieving
husband, anesthesiologist Sanjay “Jay” Dabas, and two sons
wanted to create a positive legacy in Melissa’s memory. Melissa’s
passions in life were her children and serving others. Dr. Dabas met with
the Winchester Medical Center Foundation to create the Melissa Anne Dabas
Charitable Trust which will support the Angel Fund. The Angel Fund assists
financially-challenged patients at the Valley Health Cancer Center with
non-medical expenses. He then donated 10 Lady Gaga box seat tickets to
raffle, with proceeds to benefit the Trust.
Five winners will be selected from all tickets sold. Each winner will receive
two (2) box seat tickets (retail value: $1,500) as well as round trip
transportation from Winchester to the Sunday evening concert at Capitol
One Arena. Raffle tickets are $100 each and 100% of those proceeds will
go the Melissa Anne Dabas Trust.
Tickets may be purchased online at
valleyhealthlink.com/raffle or by calling 540-536-4736. Ticket sales will end at 9 p.m. on Sunday,
November 12. Winners will be drawn Tuesday, November 14 at 12:30 p.m.
“Our hearts go out to the Dabas family, who have been through so
much,” said Jenny Grooms, Senior Director of Development at the
WMC Foundation. “We are honored to help Jay memorialize Melissa’s
generous, vibrant nature through her Charitable Trust. While her cancer
journey didn’t conclude as hoped, her name is living on through
the Trust to help others confronting cancer, and that’s a beautiful
thing.”
